  • 4 slices bread choose your favorite type
  • 4 slices cheese opt for a melty variety
  • 4 slices cooked bacon crispy strips

Instructions

How to Make Bacon Onion Grilled Cheese

  • Begin by frying the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until it's crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside on a paper towel.
  • In the same pan, add 2 tablespoons of butter and let it melt. Toss in the sliced onions and cook, stirring frequently, until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
  • While the onions caramelize, heat another skillet over medium heat.
  • Layer 2 slices of cheese, 2 slices of crispy bacon, and caramelized onions between 2 slices of bread.
  • Spread a thin layer of butter on the outside of each slice of bread.
  • Place the assembled sandwich in the heated skillet. Grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until the bread is toasty and the cheese has melted.

Notes

For extra flavor, add black pepper or hot sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
