Ingredients

For the Filling

  • 1 lb Ground beef Savory base for flavor and protein.
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese Adds gooey, melty goodness.
  • 1 cup Refried beans Adds creaminess and fiber.
  • 1 tsp Taco seasoning Adds zesty spices.

For the Wrap

  • 4 large Flour tortillas Soft base for filling.

For Frying

  • as needed Vegetable oil For frying.

Instructions

Cooking Instructions

  • In a skillet, brown 1 lb of ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes.
  • Stir in 1 tsp of taco seasoning, mix for another 2 minutes.
  • Warm 4 large flour tortillas in the microwave for about 10 seconds.
  • Spread 1 cup of refried beans over each tortilla.
  • Add the seasoned beef and 1 cup of shredded cheese on top of the beans.
  • Carefully roll up the tortilla, tucking in the sides.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan until it shimmers.
  • Fry the rolled chimichangas until golden brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Remove chimichangas and drain on paper towels.
  • Serve warm with salsa.

Notes

Optional: Garnish with fresh cilantro or sour cream for added freshness.
