Ingredients

For the Sauce

  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika optional, adds smokiness

For Add-ins

  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil for sautéing veggies or shrimp
  • 1 cup Chopped onions or bell peppers bring color and sweetness
  • 1 cup Cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu choose your protein
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley garnish
  • to taste teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes for extra heat

Instructions

Steps

  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Whisk in the flour, if using, and allow it to cook for 1–2 minutes.
  • Slowly pour in the heavy cream, whisk until well combined, and simmer for 3–4 minutes.
  • Mix in Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Reduce heat to low and stir in grated Parmesan until melted.
  • Fold in any sautéed onions, bell peppers, chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
  • Toss your cooked pasta with this sauce or drizzle it over chicken or veggies.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge. Freeze for long-term storage.
