How to Make Crispy Halloumi Burger

  • In a small bowl, combine Greek yogurt, lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and set aside.
  • Prepare three shallow bowls: one for flour, one for beaten egg, and one for breadcrumbs.
  • Dip halloumi slices into flour, then beaten egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  • Warm olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Fry breaded halloumi slices for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Toast the burger buns lightly in the skillet or oven if desired.
  • On the bottom half of each bun, spread yogurt sauce, then layer with halloumi, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and avocado if using.
  • Place the top half of the bun over the fillings and press gently.
  • Serve warm with extra yogurt sauce for dipping.
