Instructions

Cooking Instructions

  • Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions and stir occasionally.
  • Cook the onions until beautifully caramelized, about 20 minutes.
  • Stir in the beef broth and thyme, and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  • Mix in the cooked pasta along with half of the shredded Gruyere cheese.
  • Top the pasta with the remaining cheese and broil until golden and bubbly, about 3-5 minutes.

Notes

Garnish with fresh thyme for an extra touch of flavor. For best results, avoid rushing the caramelization process of onions.
