Ingredients

For the Pork Chops

  • 4 pieces Pork chops bone-in or boneless
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

For the Searing

  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil

For the Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh thyme or dried if fresh isn't available
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh rosemary

For Serving

  • Lemon wedges optional

Instructions

  • Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until hot.
  • Add the pork chops to the skillet in a single layer. Sear for about 4–5 minutes without moving them.
  • Carefully flip the pork chops and continue to cook for an additional 4–5 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Set aside to rest.
  • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter and minced garlic, cooking for about 1–2 minutes.
  • Stir in the thyme and rosemary, cooking for an additional 30 seconds.
  • Return the pork chops to the skillet, generously spooning the garlic butter sauce over them.
  • Transfer the pork chops to plates and drizzle with the garlic butter sauce. Serve with lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

For best results, use a meat thermometer and let the chops rest after cooking to maintain juiciness.
