Ingredients

For the Crostini

  • 1 loaf Baguette a fresh, crusty baguette adds the perfect crunch
  • 8 oz Mushrooms cremini or shiitake work beautifully
  • 1 large Onion caramelizes beautifully, adding sweetness and depth

For Cooking

  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil for caramelizing the onions and sautéing the mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar adds a tangy sweetness
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

For Garnish

  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley chopped

Instructions

How to Make Mushroom & Caramelized Onion Crostini

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook sliced onions until caramelized, about 15 minutes.
  • Add sliced mushrooms and stir, cooking until soft, about 5 minutes.
  • Mix in the balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  • Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5 minutes.
  • Top each toasted slice with the mushroom and onion mixture.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Optional: Drizzle a little extra balsamic vinegar on top for added zing!
