How to Make Peppermint Brownies
Prepare the Pan: Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, making sure it's smooth along the edges.
Melt Together: Melt the butter and semi-sweet chocolate in a saucepan over low heat or in the microwave until smooth and glossy.
Incorporate Sugar: Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar. Mix until well combined, then whisk in the large eggs one at a time.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt until evenly blended.
Combine Mixtures: Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula.
Add Flavors: Stir in the vanilla and peppermint extracts.
Spread and Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes.
Top with Candy Canes: Sprinkle the crushed candy canes on top as soon as the brownies are out of the oven.
Cool and Cut: Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares.
Optional: Drizzle some extra melted chocolate on top for an added touch of indulgence.
