Equipment

  • Air popper
  • Large pot
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • spatula
  • Airtight container

Ingredients

For the Popcorn

  • 1/2 cup Popcorn kernels Use an air popper for a healthier option.
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil Helps to pop the kernels evenly.

For the Coating

  • 1 cup White chocolate chips Substitute with milk chocolate for a richer flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Crushed peppermint candies Use holiday-themed peppermints for a festive touch.

For the Finish

  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt A sprinkle of sea salt can add a nice gourmet finish.

Instructions

How to Make Peppermint Popcorn

  • Pop the popcorn kernels using vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Shake the pot occasionally until the popping slows down, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Transfer the popped popcorn into a large bowl, making sure to remove any unpopped kernels.
  • Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each, until completely smooth and creamy—about 1-2 minutes total.
  • Pour the melted chocolate over the warm popcorn. Use a spatula to gently stir and coat each kernel evenly.
  • Add the crushed peppermint candies and salt, mixing well to combine all the flavors.
  • Spread the popcorn mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and allow it to cool for about 5-10 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
  • Serve your Peppermint Popcorn in a festive bowl or package it as a sweet gift.

Notes

For an extra touch of indulgence, drizzle with extra melted chocolate.
