Directions

  • Butter the bread by spreading unsalted butter on one side of each slice.
  • Layer the filling: Place one slice of bread butter-side-down in a cold skillet. Spread pizza sauce, sprinkle Italian seasoning, add half mozzarella, layer pepperoni, and finish with remaining mozzarella. Cap with the second slice, butter-side-up.
  • Heat the skillet on medium and grill for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until cheese melts.
  • Rest the sandwich for 1 minute before slicing in half. Serve warm with extra pizza sauce.
