For the Dough
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup milk warm
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Filling
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
For the Frosting
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk for frosting
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
In another bowl, mix the milk, vegetable oil, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract.
Gently combine the wet and dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle approximately ¼ inch thick.
Spread the softened butter over the rolled-out dough.
Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle it evenly over the buttered dough.
Roll the dough tightly from one long side to the other, forming a log. Cut it into 12 equal rolls.
Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving space between each roll.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
While the rolls bake, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk together until smooth.
Spread the cream cheese frosting over the warm rolls.
