For the Whipped Feta
- 8 oz Feta cheese
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt or cream cheese for a richer option
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice fresh is best
- 1 tsp Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Black pepper to taste
For the Crostini
- 1 loaf Baguette sliced
- 2 tbsp Olive oil for brushing
- 1 clove Garlic optional, for rubbing
For the Hot Honey Drizzle
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 1 tbsp Red pepper flakes adjust to taste
Optional Toppings
- 2 tbsp Fresh thyme or basil for garnish
- 2 tbsp Crushed pistachios or walnuts for garnish
- 1 tsp Lemon zest for garnish
- 1/4 cup Pomegranate arils for garnish
How to Make Spicy Whipped Feta Crostini with Hot Honey
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) for crispy crostini.
Brush both sides of baguette slices with olive oil. Arrange them on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, until golden and crisp. Optionally rub with garlic.
In a food processor, blend crumbled feta, Greek yogurt (or cream cheese), olive oil, and lemon juice until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
In a small saucepan over low heat, warm honey with red pepper flakes for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let it infuse for 10 minutes.
Spread the whipped feta on each toasted baguette slice generously.
Drizzle the hot honey over the whipped feta on each crostini.
Garnish with fresh herbs, nuts, lemon zest, or pomegranate arils.
Serve immediately while warm and crispy.
