Preparation Steps
Pound the steak to about 1/2 inch thickness and season with salt and pepper.
Dredge the meat in flour, shaking off excess.
Heat the skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
Brown the steak on both sides for about 3–4 minutes each.
Sauté the chopped onion and bell pepper until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
Combine diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, paprika, and bay leaf.
Return the browned steak to the skillet and cover with sauce.
Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours.
Remove bay leaf before serving.
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread.
